Cairns International Airport is operated by the Cairns Port Authority and is built on reclaimed land which was originally a mangrove swamp. This airport serves both international and domestic flights as well as a number of helicopter operators. Cairns Airport is the main base for the Royal Flying Doctor Service and the Queensland Emergency Service search and rescue helicopters.To fly to Cairns you need to use the airport code CNS
