The first airport to serve the city of Bristol began life as a farmers field and was the third airport created in the UK. Bristol Lulsgate Airport was developed a few years later and this replaced the old airport as the main point to fly from Bristol. Faro Airport is the main airport for the Algarve and is situated on the southern coast of Portugal. The airport is located approximatly 7 km west of Faro itself.
